![]() ![]() In 2002, Williams made his acting debut on NYPD Blue. On May 17, 2022, Williams released a new stand-up special on Netflix, titled World War III. In 2018, Williams released a new stand-up special on Netflix, shot in Jacksonville, Florida, titled Great America. This is the open discussion that we've had since 2003. Part of my guarantee in my ticket price is that I'm going to be talking about what we are talking about now, and discussing from now to the next time we see again. I am one of the rare urban public officials. This is probably going to go down as one of my finest works, just because it's a collection of forbidden topics that we can't seem to get answered. We all, at some point, if we're are at a certain age, we grew up thinking Pluto was a planet. That's the basis for all conspiracy theories: the fact that there is hidden information out there, and how our process changes about things that we thought we used to know. We know that there are conspiracies out there, but this is a conversation that encompasses a lot of things that aren't being discussed other places. The conspiracy conversation is a conversation that we are all familiar with. On September 3, 2015, during an interview, Williams announced and described his upcoming tour entitled "Conspiracy Theory", stating, On August 16, 2014, he returned with a new HBO special titled Katt Williams: Priceless: Afterlife, which was directed by Spike Lee. However, just three days later, he announced he was coming out of retirement.ĭuring late 2013, Williams was on his "Growth Spurt" Tour. On December 3, 2012, Williams announced the end of his stand-up comedy career, a day after a bizarre incident at a bar in Seattle, Washington, that landed him in jail. In 2012, after a four-year hiatus, he returned to stand-up in his third HBO comedy special, entitled Kattpacalypse. Keeping busy releasing comedy DVDs and touring, Williams had a comedy tour that was named the best of 2008 by Billboard. In 2008 he released his second HBO comedy special, which included more political standup. The film had critical success and established Williams as a mainstream comedian. In 2007 he was offered a movie/standup which he entitled American Hustle. He starred in his first comedy special in 2006 entitled Katt Williams: Live: Let a Playa Play. Most notably he appeared on BET's Comic View as Katt "In the Hat" Williams. By 1999, he had become an established comic, appearing on stage at the likes of The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Ice House, and The Hollywood Park Casino. I felt duped and I wasn’t happy with the show.He honed his comic delivery by performing his routine in clubs nationwide, from Oklahoma to Oakland. It should’ve been called Katt Williams and friends. The worst part was that out of the 7 acts, only 2 were funny. I can tell myself and much of the audience was waiting on Katt to do his set but as time went on it was apparent he was playing host to the other comics. Mark Curry was the final act and that was a bad decision because it just wasn’t the best act of the show. Tony Roberts and Tommy Davidson were the funniest one. He joke for about 10 minutes and then start presenting all of these unknown comedians. Then Katt Williams come out and I thought he was going to do his 45 minute or hour set. I wasn’t tripping because I thought they were opening acts. So bottom line, I thought I bought tickets to see Katt Williams perform and instead we got a line up of a bunch of up and coming comedians and maybe 2-3 known names. And if you people watch, this is the place to BE! ![]() His 20-30 minutes were solid, had a nice flow, and kept everyone rolling! My wife and I are seriously considering going to another show outside of Michigan in order to get the full effect and material of his GREAT AMERICA TOUR show. Mark Curry and the highly energetic Red Grant had decent sets but the one who killed was the local comedian (whose name I cannot find anyplace) that opened the show. Fortunately for us we were still able to witness the comic genius that is Katt Williams even if it was an abridged version. For me, a former stand up and radio entertainer I realize that Katt didn't perform all of his "Great American Tour" material as this was a benefitt performance for Gilda's Club which unfortunately coincided with his tour. The wife and I went to see Katt Williams perform at Van Andel Arena Snday night the 26th and were pleased and slightly disappointed with the performance.
